Direct Support for You
CVLC strives to offer various methods of direct support to those pursuing parent-guided personalized education who are enrolled in the program (Services are dependent on available funds) :
Weekly Community Learning Days for Primary and Enrichment Classes (Parent participation required; Wait list now open for 2023 - 2024 school year)
Learning Rewards Program for students and their Parent-Educators (Participation in Community Learing Day Required; Dependent on available funding; Wait List Open)
Continuing Education Events and Programming for Parents
Assistance with understanding state requirements for homeschool students
Parents join their students for community learning days in order to learn instructional skills from our tutors, build community with one another and their children’s peers, and engage in continuing education programming when available.

Community Learning Days
CVLC participants benefit from regular meet-ups where various pre-set classes are offered. Each class is part of the overall scope and sequence of a complete academic program and covers a blend of primary and enrichment classes. Courses offered on community learning days are those which benefit from group discussion (such as Shakespeare and History/Citizenship) or may be easier to implement in a group setting (such as Art and Handicrafts). CVLC uses the CMEC academic guides to provide the scope and sequence for each grade level (www.thecmec.org), and helps participants cover the cost of a membership fee to the CMEC when necessary as funds are available. Families are not required to use the CMEC curriculum plan in their own homes. Many families utilize the community learning days as stand-alone classes.
Learning Rewards Program
CVLC participants may engage in a “learning rewards program” focused on rewarding both students and their parent-educators for specific actions related to the development of lifelong learning habits. The Learning Rewards program is focused on improving long term student outcomes through rewarding short term success in the area of habit development.
