- Motto of the Parents National Education Union (an organization founded in 1887 in order to support teachers and homeschoolers in the United Kingdom as they implemented educational ideas from Charlotte Mason)
Maximize access to personalized, parent-guided education by connecting students and families with individual support and providing community learning opportunities utilizing Charlotte Mason’s principles of education
We embrace the educational value of living in a family environment, enjoying experiences with peers of all ages in larger community, and learning freely within those conditions.
We encourage one another in the thoughtful formation of habits purposefully practiced in order to develop both mind and body.
We celebrate the richness of life derived in part from a variety of experiences and ideas. We support parents in presenting a generous curriculum of both for their children and encouraging a culture of lifelong learning.
At CVLC, we understand that all education is values-based to some degree. We aim to provide resources which allow students and their families to explore their own values through their personalized educational programs. Charlotte Mason herself was part of the Anglican Church and believed that all children have value. CVLC is not affiliated with any religious or secular organization, but we do embrace the principles espoused in Charlotte Mason’s writings. As such, we celebrate the value of each individual and encourage all participants to value one another as human beings created with purpose.
